Here at Barby Sporting, we offer a range of clay pigeon shooting experiences that are suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced shots. Currently focusing on three core disciplines - skeet, sporting and sportrap, our shooting areas provide challenging and testing clay shooting in a fun and controlled environment.
As always, we welcome guests of all abilities and levels and we positively encourage participation by all. We are pleased to have seen such tremendous growth in our ladies and junior sections over recent years.

Sporting is a discipline that provides a great shooting experience for all levels and abilities. Set over a series of stands across the ground, our sporting layout is our most flexible discipline.
Targets are thrown in a great variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations and distances, providing a great way to test your all-round shooting ability.
Skeet shooting can be enjoyed by all, whether you’re new to the sport or have several years’ experience. Targets are thrown in singles and doubles from two trap houses situated approximately 40 metres apart, at opposite ends of a semicircular arc on which there are seven shooting positions. The targets are thrown at set trajectories and speeds.
Skeet shooting is ideal for general target practise and enjoyment.
Set over five stands, five targets are thrown on each stand to give you a total of 25, consisting of a single target, a simultaneous pair and a report pair. Four or five traps may be used to provide a variety of angles and trajectories. The traps will be labelled A to E from left to right and a board in front of each stand will inform the shooter of the order and combination of shots.
The ideal choice for the more competitive shot, we host our weekly sportrap competition each Wednesday evening - an event that has drastically grown in popularity over the years and something that has become the highlight of many of our regular shooters’ week.
As we continue to develop the ground, we hope to have fully-covered, floodlit sportrap shooting available throughout the year.
